New Spending Bill (Shh. Fannie and Freddie got a Raise)
49Congress Passes New Spending Bill (Shhh. Fannie and Freddie get a Raise)
Just when you think that Congress would want to get public support back by discrediting freddie and fannie mac, what do they do? They give the losers a raise, and after being in the red more than $100 Billion this year.
Lets just put it out there, the feds do not give a crap about the real estate market, the president has his eyes set on the unemployment number, the republicans have their eyes set on the deficit, and me and you are the only ones whose number 1 objective is the real estate market. Now, you could make the case that unemployment and the deficit are directly contributing to the real estate continue downfall and I would agree with you. But, if you cut capital gains by 5%, overnight you would have people investing in real estate.
But, wouldn’t cutting capital gains on real estate just create another bubble?
In a time when you have $500 million going to Solyndra, $800 Billion going to some “shovel-ready” job stimulus that no one knows what happened. It doesn’t seem too crazy to me that they should lend the Real Estate market a helping hand.
Do you know that this new spending bill created would add $33 Billion in new fees which on the average home would be about $20-$45/month in their estimates. Now, why are giving money to cut payroll taxes and then taking it back when they buy a home? This is just another ploy by the politicians in Washington, but the idiot on the couch who doesn’t read between the lines thinking that he is getting a $1000 more a year doesnt realize when he refinances or buys a home he will be taking a beating.
